The Community Transportation Association is a national membership organization that advocates mobility for all on behalf of its members. Our activities include legislative affairs, technical assistance and certification programs, national publications such as Community Transportation and RAIL Magazine, information access, and transportation-oriented issue advocacy such as senior, medical, employment and rural transportation. All this is conducted from the unique national stage of Washington, DC.

Intern positions at the Community Transportation Association offer very flexible schedule with academics and other activities. Responsibilities can be tailored to suite specific personal interests and gain diverse experience. The Association maintained strong relationships and contacts throughout the community and public transportation industry as well as partners in the smart growth, advocacy, inclusion and workforce development fields, among many others to build professional credentials for career growth. Most of our past interns have found successful career opportunities following their time with CTAA.


Administrative duties within the Association’s Communications office; circulation and subscription records maintenance; resource and information distribution; light secretarial projects; other mutually agreed-upon tasks.


Self-motivated individuals comfortable in a professional setting; ability to adapt quickly and manage several ongoing tasks; tends to provide innovative solutions and operate well in an administrative structure; excellent written and oral communication skills.
