DescriptionThe West Harlem Art Fund, Inc. is a fourteen year old, public arts organization. WHAF offers exhibition opportunities for artists and creative professionals wishing to share their talent with residents uptown and around the city. The West Harlem Art Fund, Inc. showcases art and culture in open, public spaces to add aesthetic interest to our part of the city; promote historical and cultural heritage; and support community involvement in local development.
Our latest venture includes art tours in real artist neighborhoods around the City and a curated art & lifestyle series in the fall.
Responsibilities- Compile media fax list and deadline submissions for newspapers and magazines. Send press releases and follow-up with phone calls. Organize small promotional events.
- Write effective copy, excelling in correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Use alternate forms of communication (including graphic arts), resulting in improved interactions.
- Edit and proof other team members work and provide constructive feedback
Requirements- Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas, unifying team members, and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences.
- Prefer challenges that involve communication, are people-oriented, promote networking and socializing, and include roles that call for imagination.
