DescriptionImmediate opening for full-time internship (flexible schedule). Intern would support boutique law firm's public policy advocacy and association management activities. The purpose is to assist in a broad range of firm operations including communication activities, legislative advocacy, member outreach, and engagement with regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in government policy and skill with communications and office tools.

ResponsibilitiesCreate and edit content for client publications (newsletters, monthly magazines).
Develop materials to support direct and grassroots lobbying activities (letters to Congress, briefing documents, congressional hearing testimony, etc.).
Prepare materials to support media outreach (press releases, articles, etc.).
Monitor Congress, administration, and media to identify threats and opportunities for the firm and clients.
Prepare materials to support political fundraising initiatives.
Maintain government affairs content on client web sites.
Report on congressional hearings, press events, industry coalition meetings, etc.
RequirementsAbility to establish priorities and meet critical deadlines

Research and organizational skills
Clear and concise written and oral communications
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of administrative procedures and general office practices
One year of undergraduate education
One year of office experience preferred
