Are you obsessed with finding and sharing stories online? Do you enjoy writing with a casual yet edgy tone to engage readers? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for a communications and marketing internship with Digital A11ies. Based in Newark, Del., Digital A11ies provides accessible digital solutions, including but not limited to web design, eBooks, virtual versions of print materials and accessibility consulting. This start-up company has a fast-paced work environment and seeks talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren't afraid to tackle big projects.

Some of the projects you would work on include:
-Helping develop a web and social media presence for Digital A11ies
-Web and branding re-design for an up-and-coming high-profile client
-Accessible eBook design, editing and proofreading for multiple projects, including both fiction and non-fiction


What You Will Learn:
-How to create a communications and marketing plan aimed at networking vs. advertising
-Compelling and shareable content creation across multiple platforms
-How to build an engaged online community through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google+
-New fads and best practices for virtual design, with an emphasis on a holistic approach to layout, design, cost, content, marketing and more
-Copywriting, including website copy, LOIs, query letters, etc.
-Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects

Additional Information:
-Telecommuting; some in-person work preferred, not required
-Your goals for the internship will be considered to provide a customized experience that best suits your needs
-Unpaid internship, but with the ability to count for college credit
-Former interns will be given preference for future Digital A11ies employment opportunities


-Background in marketing, communications, business or related field; visual communications majors encouraged to apply
-Strong communication skills with a focus on virtual communication
-Superb research and analytical skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced functions in MS Word and Excel
-Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
-Creative and flexible
-Familiarity with social media sites and/or best practices for web design desired, but there will also be training provided
-Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign a plus
-Interest in accessibility for mobile devices and people with disabilities a plus
