DescriptionWe are looking for talented individuals who are looking to build a career in media and television. This internship is unpaid but we offer college credit hours to students. In order to receive credit students all the proper paper work must be approve prior to the starting date. We are currently offering Fall/Spring semester Internships.
The following are the task that interns will partake in. Note that each task is designed for individuals who have knowledge and skills in that area. Not Every Intern will be asked to perform these entire tasks.
This position requires the intern to have their own DSLR Camera. You will be working closely with the boss, Cordaro, covering events, Interviews, Web-series and more. 2. Video Editors (Mac/Final cut Pro X is Preferred)
This position requires the intern to be excellent with technology and have great editing skills. A personal Apple/Mac computer or laptop with Final cut Pro X is preferred , but we're willing to see other options if the editing of photos and videos made with other software are up to par. 3. Executive assistant
This intern will have the tasks of helping obtain events, getting media passes, sending emails, helping in any other areas that need assistance, etc. This position requires a person who is comfortable with reaching out to others, talking to strangers, and good at multi-tasking.
4. Graphic design/Animation
This position requires an intern who is creative and has experience with graphic design/animation. This intern has to have great design skills and has to be able to create flyers for events, promotions, and more. If interested in this position please send a portfolio or examples of previous work.
5. Production Assistant
This intern will have the tasks of helping with equipment set up, castings, taping for the web series, organization, and anything else that the cast or directors and crew need help with before, during, and/or after productions.
6. Sound/Lighting Specialist
This position requires someone with experience setting up and working specifically with sounds/lighting equipment, with great attention to detail. This intern will be present during all tapings for web series and shows.
7. Computer Design
This position is similar to the graphic design/animation position but this intern must also know how to work lots of different programs on both laptops and computers. He/she must be very familiar with computer science-add something about coding and building mobile apps and websites.
8. Social Media
This intern will have the task of gaining an audience for What's The Word Tv. This person has to be very experienced with social networks and be well at persuasion. He/she must constantly be promoting What's The Word and getting the company's name, website, and pages seen everywhere. He/she can not be afraid to communicate face to face as well as through Dm's and instant messaging via the various social networks.
RequirementsFall Internship dates are from September 1- December 3 (mandatory cooperation)
Spring Internship dates are from January 19- May 15 (mandatory cooperation)
Must have access to a reliable internet source
Meetings are every Sunday.
Must provide a contact information for the college/University internship coordinator
Must be Available to work 15-20 hours a week. (Detailed Schedules will be Provided)
May require travel to cities outside of chicago
