DescriptionThe Public Programs Office (PPO) for the American Library Association in Chicago is seeking a current student with an interest in the areas of communications, marketing, writing, and research.
ResponsibilitiesThe Public Programs intern will work with PPO’s communications manager and other staff members as assigned.
Will assist with promoting PPO grant opportunities, traveling exhibitions, conference sessions and e-learning programs; contribute to ProgrammingLibrarian.org, PPO’s online resource for library professionals; assist with collecting and compiling data for PPO’s annual report; maintain records of media coverage; and complete other tasks as assigned.
RequirementsShould be detail-oriented and have excellent writing and editing skills; experience with content management systems, PowerPoint and Photoshop preferred.
Ideal intern’s major area of study should be Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or Non-profit Management.
