DescriptionThe Public Programs Office (PPO) for the American Library Association in Chicago is seeking a current student with an interest in the areas of communications, marketing, writing, and research.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will collect and edit stories from libraries to create short articles, blog posts and other content about arts and humanities programs for the ALA website and ProgrammingLibrarian.org.
Additionally, the intern will research and compile information for promotional materials and final reports for PPO-sponsored library program grant initiatives and assist in ongoing file organizing and archiving projects.
RequirementsThis internship requires strong writing and editing skills and experience with web-based research. The ideal candidate is a current library school student or an upperclassman majoring in journalism, communications, history, literature, or other humanities field.
Requires copy writing, excellent writing and communications/marketing expertise, MS Office. Ideal intern’s major area of study should be Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or Non-profit Management.
