DescriptionPayne Theological Seminary offers internships to college students majoring in communications, business or related fields. This paid internship is available to 2 students per quarter. If approved by the university, the student can earn college credit for the skills and experience obtained through this program.
Each student is required to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, for a minimum of 10 weeks. It is also the student's responsibility to complete school requirements, essays, and forms to earn college credit.
Payne allows students to explore higher education in a non-profit, faith-based environment. Students will work in the development department performing various duties and tasks.
Applications must include resume, letter of recommendation from school official, essay expressing your interest in higher education and the seminary, as well as writing samples.
Background in journalism, public relations, mass communications or related field
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to juggle numerous tasks at once
Organization and deadline management skills
Strong social media experience i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, or willingness to learn
Experience in any database system is a plus
Familiarity with the AME Church (not a requirement)
All internship applications will be reviewed for completion of packet forms as well as for minimum requirements such as G.P.A., education and interests.
The school official will be contacted to verify application and recommendation.
The applicant will be interviewed by the Development Director.
Once the applicant has been selected, the applicant will report directly to the Development Director.
Intern is responsible for all school requirements, essays, and forms to earn college credit.
Intern must complete at least 200 hours over the 10 week internship (20 is scheduled minimum per week).
Intern must be in good standing for Payne Theological Seminary to sign completion documents.
