Description

You will assist with planning, scheduling, and deploying social media and website communications. Assist communications and development team with any other major communications projects, events, or items as necessary for duration of internship.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with appropriate staff to develop social media campaigns and strategies for the organization and execute on strategies through the use of the department’s publications calendar
2. Draft social media and website content for approval
3. Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media and following up and pitching stories to media through phone calls and emails
4. Work with program level staff to gather stories, testimonials, and information for potential use across all communications channels (blogs, social media, website, etc)
5. Assist in the development and/or review of marketing and outreach materials
6. Assist in developing and promoting video clips; help with developing and maintaining agency’s still photo library with easily-navigable nomenclature
7. Where necessary, look for ways to enhance social media outlets and find opportunities to maintain communications and build donor base
8. Assist in tracking and analyzing website and social media performance with an emphasis on search engine optimization

Requirements

1. Very proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; able to compose correspondence, and communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups
2. General experience and background with design software (Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, etc.), Google Analytics, Content Management Programs and Email Marketing
3. General experience and background with social media advertising and analytic reporting
4. Self-motivated and confident in making sound business decisions
5. Successful with outlining, managing and performing in multi-tasking environment
6. Work creatively with limited resources
7. Experience with tight deadlines for managing projects
8. Creative problem solving
9. Team-oriented with positive attitude
10. Proven excellent verbal and written skills
11. Demonstrated sound organizational and coordination skills
12. Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail
13. Commitment to social services with an appreciation for faith-based approach
