ACF’s communications department seeks a dynamic self-starter interested in getting hands-on experience in social media, event marketing and public relations. The internship will require working with several internal departments to help them achieve their social media projects and communication/marketing efforts.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn the following skills and use these communication/marketing tools:
-Write/edit in AP Style
-Constant Contact, Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, media database and clipping services
-Conduct and compile research on local, regional and national media outlets and reporters.
-Assist in writing press materials and sending out press releases for upcoming events series.
-Support ACF’s departments in creating a social media plans and posting updates.
-Contribute to planning and writing direct marketing emails for upcoming events.
- Write/edit member stories and chapter news, and post on social media platforms and website.
-Assist the quarterly publication editor in writing the news section of ACF’s culinary magazine for students and educators.
-Support communications department’s projects and job duties as needed.
Requirements-Firm grasp of social media through personal use/interest
-Completed public relations writing classes or higher
- Experience with AP Style
-Ability to work independently or with a team and be able to multitask
-Understands the basic principles of public relations and social media marketing
-Ability to communicate in a professional manner and willing to speak on the phone
