DescriptionThe Tristesse Grief Center is a nonprofit founded locally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are dedicated to providing professional grief counseling to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
The Marketing and Community Relations Intern will work directly with the Community Relations Director under supervision of the Executive Director. Responsibilities include creating and managing digital advertisements, creating and implementing social media campaigns intent on engaging followers, writing press releases, and creating in-house print materials. This position also includes website maintenance, donor relations, and nontraditional advertising campaign creation. Creativity is key! The Marketing Intern will need to tackle unique issues with a fresh perspective, solving problems in inventive and unexpected ways.
The Marketing and Community Relations Intern will work closely with the Director to create a brand new fundraising event from beginning stages to completion, including marketing the event, selling tickets, coordinating sponsors and partnerships with local businesses, and managing the event day-of.
Requirements15 hours minimum each week
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
Experience with Google Apps, including Drive, Docs, Slides and Sheets
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently on multiple projects
Creative and organized with a willingness to learn new skills
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Some graphic design experience is a plus, but not required – this internship offers training on multiple web-based programs, including design programs and CRM software
Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related Major recommended
Internship is currently unpaid, but has potential to grow into a paid part-time position
