Description

The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Some potential internship activities include:

• Support in all facets of Cause and fundraising-event public relations, marketing and community outreach including:
o Media materials development, distribution and follow up calls
o Media Research – develop relationships with new reporters and media outlets
o Assist in managing our social media marketing platforms including our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as our local YouTube pages
o Prep for special events and assist office staff with projects
• Organize survivor video and print library – interview survivors, write their stories, video tape survivors sharing a message of hope, catalog the videos and stories on SharePoint
• Assisting in organizing/implementing culturally appropriate initiatives and programs throughout communities, managing a volunteer database, training and directing volunteers.

Requirements

Good communication and writing skills are necessary, competent computer skills are required, and ideal candidates will be motivated and independent workers with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
