DescriptionThe Marketing/Communications Intern will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of marketing, communications and fund raising activities, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the non-profit sector. Interns will gain experience in event marketing, social media, web marketing, fund raising and all aspects of public relations and communications.
The YWCA Central Massachusetts, founded in 1885, is the longest serving agency by, for and about women and girls in the Worcester community. It is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA recognizes the strengths and competencies of women and offers support, resources, advocacy, information and education to empower them to take charge of their lives and become independent and financially secure.
The intern should have a background and/or interest in one of the following:
Marketing, Communications, Fund Raising, Public Relations, Journalism
ResponsibilitiesEditing content for collateral materials – program brochures, donor newsletter, agency e-newsletter, website, e-blasts, and other media
Creating social media posts
Participate in planning, coordination and execution of agency events
Spring interns will be a big part of our Annual Stand Against Racism events, including a public rally at City Hall.
Fall interns will experience several events and 2 large fundraisers fr Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Writing press releases
Provide administrative support to the Marketing/Resource Development Dept.
