DescriptionThis unpaid internship is designed to help you get a head start on your career, and we're accepting applications on a rolling basis.
During this structured and fast-paced 12 weeks of training, you’ll learn the ins and outs of results-oriented social media and marketing for nonprofit. We will provide training on messaging, analytics, hashtags, event marketing, blogging, live-tweeting and more.
About Us: Social Media for Nonprofits (SM4NP) is a nonprofit that provides social media marketing training to NGOs all over the world through our wide variety of digital and live events. We work with major NGOs around the world including American Red Cross, Humane Society, and Gates Foundation. On the corporate side, we partner closely with major social media platforms and companies. The Social Media & Communications Intern will provide support for the marketing and communications efforts of Social Media for Nonprofits. Duties include writing content for social media applications, tweets blogs and newsletters, supporting communications needs for spreading the word about our conferences, administrative support, and assisting in the maintenance of archives.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player with experience in communications.
Additional work responsibilities include:
Develop, write and publish content for social media applications, including Twitter and Facebook.
Assist in the execution of a robust editorial calendar
Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
Assist with the creation, editing and production of web and print collateral
Provide administrative support and complete additional tasks as pertaining to marketing and communications.
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Strong collaborative, planning and implementation skills
-Comfortable working independently
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle changing deadlines
-Tech savvy Knowledge of social networks, including Twitter and Facebook
--Expert level Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft programs including MSWord and Powerpoint
-Working toward or hold a BA degree in marketing, communications or related field
-Experience in marketing/communications
-Experience working within nonprofits
