Social Media Internship: RUN TRI RIDE
Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter
Unpaid/10 hours per week minimum
This internship is based in our Watertown, MA Office

Overview of Alzheimer’s Association
Founded in 1980, the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Association operates out of its main office in Watertown, with regional offices in Springfield, Worcester, and Raynham, MA, and in Bedford, NH.

The RUN TRI RIDE program encompasses the following events: RIDE To End Alzheimer’s, Boston Marathon, Boston’s Run To Remember, Falmouth Road Race and Max Performance Triathlon Series.

Responsibilities
Working with the RUN TRI RIDE (RTR) staff, the Social Media Intern will help increase awareness of RTR athletic events throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire in the following ways:

• Monitor blogs and other social media outlets for relevant content
• Research and outreach to past RTR event participants who are interested in sharing their story with the media
• Promote RTR events via Facebook, Twitter and calendar listings
• Assist with outreach to athletic groups such as running clubs
• Provide assistance with special event planning as needed

Requirements

Qualifications
• Solid understanding of social media
• Strong writing skills
• Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently
• Outgoing, energetic personality
• Comfortable making phone calls and interacting with the general public
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) required
