Responsibilities

•Create or modify designs for clean, user-friendly, data-driven web sites in Adobe Photoshop, under direction from the Design Team manager. Design work will include detailed mockups as well as wireframes.
•Create or modify front-end code that meets design specifications, under direction from senior members of the Technology team. Write HTML & CSS suitable for dynamic web sites, working in and around developer code.
•Create or modify promotional materials, including Powerpoint presentations and print materials like flyers and brochures, under direction from the Design Team manager.
•Present and explain design decisions in a clear manner, verbally or in writing.
•Learn and adhere to Guaranteed Rate’s Agile software development methodology. Provide estimates for Design and Coding tasks to be performed for a planned project. Work against estimates and verbally report progress on a daily basis in a group setting.

Requirements

Job Requirements:
•Keen analysis and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication skills
•Familiarity with web standard practices and user interface designs
•Knowledge of HTML & CSS
•Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
•Knowledge of jQuery and/or JavaScript preferred
•Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign preferred
•Knowledge of HTML5/CSS3 a plus
•Experience in designing and coding for the web
•Experience with dynamic, data-driven web sites and/or web-based applications a plus
•Bachelor's degree in progress; Computer Science, Graphic Design or Art concentration preferred
