DescriptionSukuru, a disruptive LMS and CMS platform is seeking two (2) development interns (iOS and Android) to work in a dynamic start-up environment with a small, collaborative team. We want you to learn, have fun, contribute to something great, and because this is a systems designed by students for students, you will have many opportunities to contribute and take ownership over your work.
This position can start immediately with the possibility of leading to full-time employment.
Responsibilities(1) iOS DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Sukuru is seeking an iOS development intern to help build out web apps. The development intern will work closely with the head of development, and the design and backend integration teams to enhance functionality of the platform.
The development intern will work under the direct supervision of the head of front-end development and alongside the UI/UX and design team to bring design mock-ups to life and fully integrate with back-end programming. The development intern will bring his/her working knowledge of development languages and design to a lean start-up environment where (s)he will learn what it takes to build a start-up business in the education technology space. The managing partners will oversee the day-to-day work, and interns will have opportunities for considerable independence and input. Interns will also be provided with educational opportunities to learn about the business and legal elements of a start-up, will attend meetings, and may be invited to events within the NYC start-up community.
Requirements• Strong proficiency in iOS development, either native, or via PhoneGap or RubyMotion
• Knowledge of back-end development processes preferred
• Ability to work 2-3 days per week (Weekends may be an option if desired) or remotely
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as you may be asked to coordinate projects with a Sukuru technical engineer in San Francisco and designers in Europe (Likely via email and Skype)
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably majoring in computer science or similar
