Description

Craft beer is booming and along with it are the complexities in the styles and selection of new beers. We have a technology that harnesses the power crowd-sourced beer reviews and gives customized recommendations to users based on how they rate other beers. It uses state-of-the-art data mining and machine-learning techniques combined with cutting edge recommendation algorithms developed by experts in the field.

Our BeerMapper app is live on the iTunes store, available for the iPhone and iPad. There is a long list of new features and UX improvements that we want to implement to take the app to the next level. We are looking for iOS developer intern(s) to help us build the best beer app in the market.

Time commitments should be between 10-15 hours per week on average. We are a minimally funded company and the app is currently free, so we can’t pay cash for internship. However, we do offer plenty of opportunities to gain valuable experience by working on meaningful projects alongside the management team. We work out of the hottest entrepreneurial hub in Chicago – “1871” at the Merchandise Mart, but the majority of the work can be done off-site as time permits. This position is open to interns globally, the candidates can work remotely and do not need to be in Chicago.

Responsibilities

Projects could range from a series of smaller frontend tasks to more complicated feature integrations. Tasks will be assigned based on the intern's goals and experiences as well as the timeline requirements of the project.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least some experience in iOS development and a willingness to learn and grow. Our CTO is a very smart guy with lots of experience and is willing to teach and guide projects, but the ideal person is self-motivated and is driven to create cutting edge technologies.

Skills

Required - Objective-C
Preferred - OpenGL, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server
