DescriptionThe Campus Safeword Project is a 501c4 not-for profit organization (CSP), which seeks to use technology to promote safe, sane and consensual sexual practices on America’s college campuses in an effort to minimize violence against the vulnerable, while at the same time diminishing the chances of wrongful accusations of sexual assault. The idea is to reduce confusion during sexual encounters by using technology to clearly establish, maintain or withdraw consent. We are currently directing the January 2016 campaign for the development and implementation of a smartphone app that will allow all parties in a sexual encounter to establish an agreed upon, unique “safe word” before the event.
Our Internship position is directed at the development and implementation of a multiplatform smartphone app. This app will allow for the establishment of the unique safeword by the students before a sexual encounter. It will also permit the students to securely report violations o the safeword protocols to campus or other authorities.
The slogan of CSP is "Document Consent" so we need the app to do exactly that. We have a plan that will be shared with the selected intern after a non-disclosure/non-circumvent agreement has been signed.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will help design, create and implement the smartphone app. The person in this role will help with development and strategy on how to make the app the most effective for the users. The app will ultimately be used on college campuses in conjunction with their on site student organizations that promote sexual safety.
