Description

The .NET Developer Internship is a year round part-time position that works with one of Application Development teams. The position requires a highly motivated, team-oriented person with excellent communication skills and an emphasis in .NET development.

Responsibilities

Development & Support: ◦ Develop and maintain applications for Menards stores and external web sites, primarily using .NET
◦ Work through the entire development lifecycle, creating program specifications through coding, implementation and testing
◦ Create test plans and thoroughly test and debug all programs prior to implementation
◦ Provide weekly status updates on current projects
◦ Work with stores, Help desk and technical support Team Members to troubleshoot problems as they arise
◦ Maintain an in-depth knowledge of User's operations to facilitate communication

• Security & Confidentiality:
◦ Maintain information confidentiality and security
◦ Protect, prevent and report all unauthorized attempts to obtain corporate information
• Production Issues: ◦ Identify problem trends pro-actively
◦ Execute action plan(s)
◦ Follow established processes for problem handling and resolution

• Other: ◦ Suggest and recommend ways to improve the quality of work within the team

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming or MIS related field and within three semesters of graduation
• Knowledge of the .NET programming language ASPs, VB, C#, Object Oriented Design
• Excellent design and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Capable of working on both individual and team-oriented projects
• This position requires 15-20 hours per week between 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and will offer more hours during the summer months
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
