Building Envelope Consulting, LLC (BEC) Building Envelope Consulting, LLC is a Virginia-based consulting firm that specializes in the diagnosis of building envelope defects and the development of roofing/waterproofing/building exterior repairs and remediation.
Our mission is to provide superior and comprehensive consulting services for every facet of existing building envelopes, which includes facades, balconies, parking garages, windows, roofs, plazas, swimming pools and fountains, foundations, crawl spaces, subsurface waterproofing, and drainage systems. We also provide insurance claim, peer review, failure investigation, and expert testimony services.
Specialties: Leak detection and testing of roof, wall, window, door, plaza deck and below grade air and water intrusion. BEC provides advanced leak detection techniques including, vacuum chamber, blower door, infrared and other non-destructive techniques.
BEC, LLC is looking for a field tech intern to assist with testing projects in the Northern Virginia/DC/Maryland areas. Primary testing includes the ASTM Air and Water Infiltration Testing. Travel through the DMV will be required.
Responsibilities- Assist Project Manager with air and water infiltration testing at client sites
- Assist Project Manager with recording findings during testing
- Assist Project Manager with transportation of testing equipment from office to job site
RequirementsApplicant must be currently enrolled in college-level coursework, and preferably pursuing a degree in Engineering, Architecture, and/or Historic Preservation.
Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs.
