Qualitative Data AssistantBookmark This
The Freeform Radio Initiative
DescriptionThe Incarcerated Voices radio project is an exploration into the circumstances and conditions of incarceration through the eyes, ears, and hearts of prisoners. We seek to foster insight into the prisoner's responses to broaden the general public's understanding of the prison population today. The intent is to give a voice to the voiceless.
We are currently seeking a qualitative data assistant to help in coding and analyzing the content of the submissions to the project. The submissions are all written by people in federal and state prisons across the United States. This provides a great opportunity to develop qualitative data analysis skills!
The qualitative data assistants will work as a team to provide support to the Qualitative Data Manager in coding submissions, ensuring data quality and integrity, and assisting with thematic qualitative data analysis.
Responsibilities- Assisting in qualitative control and uploading of submissions;
- Creating a comprehensive qualitative codebook to guide thematic analysis; - Coding letters using Dedoose (virtual qualitative data analysis software);
- Documenting processes and updating materials; and
- Additional research duties, writing, and administrative tasks as the project progresses.
Requirements- Education and/or professional experience related to qualitative data analysis or a related field; and
- Experience working with qualitative analysis software (e.g., InVivo, Dedoose, Atlas TI) preferred, but not required.
