DescriptionJeweld Legacy is dedicated to improving the lives of people and communities impacted by the criminal justice system by assisting agencies and institutions and providing data and research that directs programs and policies. We offer a range of technical assistance, meeting facilitation, training and consultation that builds the capacity of our clients to achieve win/win results. Our interns will work 20-32 hours per month, for 6-12 months in our Oakland office and virtually, on a variety of tasks that range for focus groups, data entry, meeting preparation and follow-up, project management and marketing.
Responsibilities-Assist in conducting focus groups
-Assist with research and evaluation projects such as conducting in-person and telephone interviews, scoring instruments, analysis of data and report writing
-Research topics for trainings and proposals along with gaps within the industry
-Work with others to develop materials for presentations, meetings and marketing
-Attend and participate in coalition and partnership meetings
-Develop agendas, transcribe minutes, send meeting notifications and provide on-going communication with attendees
-Letter writing, email announcements and other administrative duties
RequirementsWe are looking for interns who are interested in social and criminal justice, policy reform, research and marketing. Interns should be curious about various aspects of operating a developing business that serves the state and national criminal justice community. Coursework in social work, criminal justice, child development, marketing and/or event planning are preferred. Uses initiative and creativity, works independently; organized and pays attention to detail.
