Description

Our office provides day to day supervision of 1600 offenders in the community. Conduct investigations pertaining to social history and sentencing data, interact with offenders and their families, both in the office and in the field for presentence and other investigative purposes, and for community supervision and case management of adult probationers and parolees; participate in orientation programs, staff meetings, and training opportunities; and observe felony sentencing events and revocation hearings in the courtroom.

Responsibilities

Our agency provides an educational and experiential opportunity for individuals to work with offenders in the community and a professional setting. Participants will be responsible for case management of the offenders. Other responsibilities include drug testing, conducting field work, and gaining knowledge in a courtroom setting.

Requirements

Interns must be at least 18 years old, concerned, and a good adult model. They must have no prior criminal conviction records. Each intern is strongly urged to have access to or own an automobile. Some academic background in criminology, sociology, or psychology preferred.
