Description

We produce a line of candies, jellies, mustards, snacks and fudges that are sold wholesale, on the web and in our retail location. Our commercial kitchen is located inside our retail store for customers to watch and experience the culinary process.
Intern would learn how to cook the products, package, order supplies and general commercial kitchen operations and management.

Responsibilities

Assist with product production until able to produce independently, maintain inventory of both raw materials and finished product, order supplies, label/package product, maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment, etc. Kitchen is glass walled so professional appearance and ability to interact with customers a must. Reliability is absolutely crucial as we produce to order with many high profile customers relying on us to deliver.
Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds, work quickly and consistently...its a fast paced environment and we work hard, but its a lot of fun.
Hours can be flexible but once set must be maintained; November thru January is very busy and may see an increase in hours, must be able to work during the holiday season.

Requirements

Kitchen knowledge a must; candy making experience is not necessary but basic measurements, cooking processes and an intuition for food and cooking is required. We have very high standards of quality and cleanliness that must be adhered to so attention to detail and ability to follow procedures is an absolute must.
