The Salvation Army is looking for several volunteers to assist in the daily preparation of dinners for our residents. The Hospitality House is a homeless shelter specializing in single men ages 18 and over. We provide shelter, food, clothing, laundry services, computer lab, medical, dental, and mental health referrals and case management.
We are looking for individuals who can work 3-4 hour shifts and help sort, prepare, and cook the morning or evening meals for our guests. We also hope the volunteer culinary interns will be able to instruct the residents on cooking techniques and bring in new recipes, as well as offer some knowledge on proper nutrition and diet habits. We would like to recruit enough culinary intern volunteers to fill the slot for every day of the week. Our days are flexible, but we ask that interested culinary intern volunteers be able to commit to a set schedule (i.e. Every Mon and Wed) for at least a 3-4 month period.
