DescriptionWe are an addiction treatment center that specializes in treating clients with eating disorders and chemical dependencies.
We are looking for an unpaid intern to join our culinary team and learn the ropes in our industry and how to work in the kitchen where food is specifically prepared for each client based on his or her treatment needs. The intern must be doing hours for school credit.
Our culinary team consists of a Head Chef, an Assistant Chef and two Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. The culinary team works together to create menus, order food, and prepare and plate lunches and dinners for our clients.
You will learn how to follow directions in a kitchen, order inventory, learn about nutrition, portion control, and preparing food for binge-eaters, clients who are obese and others who have chemical dependencies. You will also learn how to interact with clients and other kitchen staff including upper management.
