In this position you will be learning all aspects of kitchen management to prepare for the role of working in a professional kitchen. This includes the basics of preparing food as well as food and beverage management. You will participate in inventory management such as ordering and maintaining items needed for the kitchen. In addition, you will engage in catering duties and update a new menu with new pricing. The end goal of this internship will be to book a corporate outing in a professional and courteous demeanor. You will create a menu, order and prepare food, and feed a group using all the skills you have obtained.


-Responsibilities in all aspects of the kitchen to understand the operation of the entire kitchen
-The regulations of food sanitation and work towards a food sanitation license
-How to properly handle food, including packaging and freezing processes
-How to label, date, and store food products properly
-How to prepare meals and other food items
-To ensure timeliness and quality of foods
-The fundamentals of food presentation
-The basics of customer service
-How to set up and tear down catering functions
-Marketing and sales skills
-Other related duties as needed
