DescriptionSeasonal New American Brooklyn (Michelin recommended, NY Times 1 star) 45 seat restaurant seeks back of house/kitchen intern.
Our team-based kitchen is looking for an intern to help in all back of house procedures. We guarantee that our intern will learn various elements of back of house kitchen duties, including but not limited to: ordering, receiving, inventory, ingredient prep work, costing and food economics, recipe testing and tasting, food styling, production, sustainability, and time management. We want an intern to gain just as much as they put in, so are looking for a candidate that has goals and achievements they would like to pursue while in our kitchen.
Our restaurant consistently changes it’s menu depending on the availability of season ingredients. We are very environmentally conscious, and keep our waste to a minimum by focusing on re-purposing ingredients that most other restaurants will put to waste. The internship will be hands on, and you will be immersed in our daily service for the restaurant. Our ideal intern is passionate, focused, self-driven, environmentally conscious, ambitious, can multi-task in a fast paced environment, time conscious, a good communicator, and an attentive listener.
