DESCRIPTION: FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
We are building our team of rotating “go-to” freelance graphic designers. We like to keep it in the family here! For example, we’ve worked with the same graphic designers, on a project basis, for the last 4 years, but now, we are looking to freshen up the crew. Our graphic design needs vary from smaller internal agency branding and client communication projects to environmental mock-ups, advertising creative, experiential branding on-site to promotional creative and more. Why build a creative squad? Because we understand not all designers think alike, have the same creative vision, areas of expertise or skillset, we’d rather match the best designer(s) to the project.
OFFICE vs VIRTUAL
60/40 (part-time in office schedule with team, part-time work virtually)
Varies per project scope and level of experience. Must be able to get college credit. Stipends available for project depends on scope.
ResponsibilitiesINTERNS MAY BE INVOLVED WITH PROJECT SUCH AS:
Agency Brand Evolution – we’ve recently evolved our brand name….and so our creative must be evolved!
Non-profit client participating in the 350th anniversary of the City of Newark’s official celebration in 2016
Non-profit client’s 11th annual music festival taking place in 2016
Non-profit client’s 3rd annual summit taking place in 2016
Other/Misc – As projects confirmed, as needed basis
Customer focused with ability to adapt/flexible
Ability to accurately make requested copy and design changes, handles rejection well and willing to make revisions to satisfy client needs
Attention to detail and deadlines a must
Strong typography skills a must
Self-starter able to work independently and collaborate with agency head to meet client objectives
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must posses creative vision, able to concept creative and execute ideas from concept to final creative
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
Bridge, Acrobat – Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver a plus
Illustration, 3D, creative animation, 3D and Flash are welcome but not required
Familiar with online file-transferring platforms and able to send both low resolution and large, hi resolution files
Familiar with reading ad specs and able to re-size creative to fit digital formats (social media, online advertising, website creative, etc.)
General graphic design skills, layout skills, creative services, creativity, desktop publishing tools, acute creative vision
FOR INTERNS - PERIODS (Average length: 12 weeks)
Project based. Ongoing/rotating.
FALL/WINTER SEMESTER: Deadline: August 1, 2015 Starts: September 21, 2015 (on or about)
SPRING SEMESTER: Deadline: December 15, 2015 Starts: January 25, 2016 (on or about)
