Description

Act to Rise for Innovation in Special Education (ARISE) Impact is a mission oriented non-profit enabling self-learning for differently-abled. Since 2010, we are developing and disseminating self- learning content, games and apps for special needs students. OurOur capstone service is delivering Special Education Modules for visually challenged. We have conducted in-classroom on-ground research studies to model the learning mechanism of visually challenged children.

The job as a Principle Web Designer is very critical, and will take a person of high expertise to execute. With the Internet constantly growing in popularity, highly-technical people skilled in web design are needed to help keep these websites attractive to customers and operating smoothly. That is where web designers come in. Web designers help businesses and individuals maintain an online presence,

Responsibilities

Web designers work closely with clients to gain an idea of what the site should look like. Web designers ideally have some creativity and marketing skills, since the goal of almost all websites is to make them attractive to customers, especially the company’s target audience. Web designers need to be able to create websites that are user friendly and attractive to the company’s audience. Using coding such as HTML, XML and CSS, web designers create content, such as text, and insert images, such as graphics and photos. Since they must be able to manipulate images and incorporate video and audio into websites, they also must be familiar with other software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Java.

•Develops site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content and plans site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality.
•Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
•Prepares site by installing and configuring server software; installing programming language using authoring and formatting tools; ensuring cross-platform compatibility; establishing links.
•Establishes locatability by registering with search engines.
•Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
•Protects site by designing and installing security precautions.
•Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
•Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
•Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
•Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Art, Business Administration, Computer Science, or any related field from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree in Fine Arts is a plus
•3-5 years experience designing web applications (not marketing sites, but applications)
•Experience with designing systems using Bootstrap
•Hands-on experience implementing CSS/SASS themes
•Experience with responsive design
•Effective project management skills and task management
•Ability to analyze and understand complex business systems.
•Ability to think analytically and should be a “problem solver”.
•Ability to work in a collaborative team with both development and business staff.
•Experience with JSP/JSF a plus
•Experience with Cordova, PhoneGap or other hybrid mobile system a plus
•Experience with Axure a plus
•Experience with Angular a plus
•Experience with XML, XSLT and web services a plus
•Experience in automotive, heavy industry or agricultural manufacturing, repair or service a plus
