Free Social Events is a team of New Yorkers who exist to make the Big Apple bite-able. We find the best events and talk about them through articles, videos, podcasts, and social media. We get our members huge discounts, promo tickets, and the inside scoop on exclusive events that both we and our partners host.

Online and offline, we connect people to new experiences by sifting, summarizing, discounting, and hosting the best events in NYC. And we’re launching in Fall of 2016.



If you’re dedicated to the craft of Video Editing, enjoy building relationships, have creative ideas and an engaging style, can manage deadlines, and love New York---we’d love to talk to you!.

You don’t need to have a particular personality, background, or style to work with us. We want members of our team to feel comfortable, supported, and free to be themselves even as they are challenged to learn and grow.


Because we’re a small company still in startup phase, we can offer ambitious and/or curious staff the opportunity to try out different skills and projects, according to your own time and interests. If you’d like to see event planning, marketing/advertising, graphic design, audio, or videography/photography in action, we can pair you up with our other team members. (They’d love the support!)

Free Social Events is looking for an experienced Videographer / Multimedia guru to join our team. We will be creating a variety of content to help promote the wide variety of event going on in NYC.

-Create video trailers for our upcoming events.
-Create video versions of written articles.
-Plan, Shoot, and Edit promotional content for the company.
-Re-purpose content to be uploaded to social media sites.
-Extensive work in Youtube and Vimeo.
-Communicate with our researchers as well as outside bloggers, writers, and other experts who will contribute to the events/articles.
-Necessary time commitment: 12-15 hours per week.

-We will be driving many eyeballs to our various outlets and websites, which means your work will be viewed and shared by many people that will help establish you.
-Help grow this company from a startup to one of the leading social event and news companies in NYC(and beyond).
-This position is part-time and unpaid, with the opportunity for regular pay within 6-12 months.
-Get knowledge about dozens of industries and events in New York
-Work closely with a team of diverse talent
-Make connections with experts and professionals in a variety of fields across New York City
-Get insight into how a bootstrapped startup grows and becomes profitable
