WHO CAN APPLY
The summer business development role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree. While your discipline or major are not important, we are looking for students with an outstanding record of academic achievement and an interest in new product development/sales/marketing, and building strategic business partnerships.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This is a twelve-week program designed to fully immerse you in the day-to-day activities of our Business Development Department. The program starts with an orientation where you’ll learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Macris Industries. You will also receive specific training designed to help you succeed in the Business Development.
After training, you will receive real responsibilities to give you a sense of what it’s like to work in a rapidly growing start-up, and how to wear many hats as an entrepreneur. Along with fellow interns, you will work alongside leaders within our industry. Successful Summer Interns may be invited back to join us in a full time position.
Travel among Nantucket, the Hamptons, Annapolis, New York City, Newport, Mystic and Boston may be required at times.
ResponsibilitiesBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST (SUMMER)
The Business Development Analyst will learn how to, and be responsible for, building new business for Macris industries. In doing so, the Analyst will evaluate current and future product markets, will build prospecting models and sales pipelines, will identify new areas of business, and will pursue strategic partnership opportunities with complementary businesses. The Analyst will attend sales meetings and will participate in creating direct sales. Additionally, the Analyst will add value in marketing strategy meetings, and will plan business development campaigns.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. We’re seeking an intelligent, self-motivated, entrepreneurial-type, who is well-rounded, and can understand technology and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be familiar with boating, yachting, waterways, and will have foresight in to potential growing markets for our products. The candidate should be motivated to make an impact, should have a sportsman/team mindset, and should enjoy speaking with potential customers/ business partners.
