Shining Mountain Waldorf School is a private, non-profit, independent school located in Boulder, Colorado. It has 300 students in grades preschool-12th grade and is fully accreditated through ACIS (Association of Colorado Independent Schools) and AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America). The school has embarked on a master campus planning project to expand the campus and build a cutting edge, sustainably built middle school and/or high school and performing arts space. We will be pursuing grants for the new campus from various sources and are in need of an individual to put together the initial overview grant application for the school and to apply for grants from community foundations, private foundations, and other sources.


This position can be worked from home, and time at the school will be minimal, although local candidates only will be considered. On a daily basis, this intern would be expected to:
* Research the components of a standard grant application;
* work with members of the staff and Board to compile the needed data and write the initial grant application;
* Research potential grant opportunities in the areas of : green schools, greenhouses, alternative transportation, gardening, and sustainably built design;
* Complete and submit applications for the above grant opportunities.


This individual needs to be able to work independently to compile, research, and write the basic grant application for the master campus planning team. This individual needs excellent writing and communication skills to work not only with the Development Director, but members of the Board of Trustees and Business Office. Basic computer skills are required, and it would be prefered that this individual be familiar with Waldorf education ( as well as pursuing a business degree.
