Like kids? Caves? Photocopying? 826DC is looking for interns! Come exercise your writing skills, and gain valuable experience in many aspects of nonprofit management, fundraising, and event planning.

Maestros of Development (development internships) assist the Director of Development with the execution of the fundraising strategy and the maintenance of 826DC’s fundraising database. Interns should have experience in (or be willing to learn how to) compiling donor files, assisting with prospect research, and providing logistical support to events. These Maestros play a crucial role in grant writing, as well as event preparation for our fall Trivia For Cheaters donor event.

Grant Writing
Database Administration
Event Planning
Prospect Research
Board of Directors Liaisonship


Minimum commitment of 12-15 hours per week from September through December. (Full Time opportunities are also available).
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
Editing/proofreading experience preferred.
Experience with children in a professional setting a plus.
Spanish language skills a plus.
Design software skills (especially Adobe Creative Suite) a big, big plus.
