Description

The Foundational Giving & Development intern will support the staff on projects including institutional giving, annual appeals, and membership initiatives. The internship will also focus on corporate, foundational, and government grant applications with the underlying goal of supporting a capital campaign for historic preservation. Responsibilities include prospect research, program data analysis, grant writing, data entry, and other projects as assigned.

Requirements

This is an opportunity for a student interested in non-profit administration to experience the basics of fundraising in a team environment at a small historical non-profit organization. Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in non-profit management, arts administration, or history are encouraged to apply. Applicants with experience volunteering or working in office administration, or historic preservation are also encouraged to apply. Applicant must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, experience with Internet research, data entry, basic office tasks, and excellent communications skills. Internships will be available beginning in September and may extend through to Spring 2014. This internship requires a commitment of 8-12 working hours per week during a 9-5 workweek. Course credit available upon request.
