ICE HOCKEY IN HARLEM is a non-profit community based organization for youth that uses the sport of hockey to promote academic achievement, responsibility, teamwork and good character. The objective of the organization is to provide inspiration, encouragement and guidance to children leading to better life experiences, education and career opportunities. Since 1987, ICE HOCKEY IN HARLEM has enriched the lives of more then 1000 boys and girls from the Harlem community.

Responsibilities

Ice Hockey In Harlem is seeking the help of an intern to coordinate fundraising activities on behalf of the organization. The intern will assist in researching potential new funders, as well as helping to maintain relationships with current funders. The intern will work collaboratively with the staff and board on meeting fundraising goals. Creativity, motivation, independent thinking, keen research skills, and a passion for nonprofit work are a must.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with foundation research
• Collect data and present concise reports in a timely fashion
• Strong written and verbal skills are essential

Requirements

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong research and analytical skills. Must be organized, detail and team-oriented, able to multitask and meeting deadlines. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Word, Excel, Power Point also preferred.
