DescriptionAt Groceries Apparel, my creative/development team handles a wide range of tasks; developing and managing seasonal collections, coordinating hand-off of new styles to production, managing sample production and allocation, planning and executing marketing campaigns, and comprehensive branding and marketing for the Groceries label.
Applicants must be willing and excited to engage in a variety of functions under constant deadline pressure. Extreme work-ethic and a genuine passion for product/brand development are an absolute requirement. Basic pattern/sample making skills, knowledge of Adobe programs, organizational skills, trend forecasting, and creative design abilities will all help candidates succeed in and maximize their internship opportunity.
ResponsibilitiesEvery day your roles will change but on the large scale, over a 3-month period, you will witness a 60+ piece clothing line go from inception, through development, into full-scale production. You will contribute on every part of the process, likely leaving your mark on the line through pieces you design, or brand content that you help create.
RequirementsThe only true 'must-haves' are a passion to help create and share an overarching vision for a clothing brand and effective communication. Groceries Apparel offers a perfect opportunity for you express your own creativity on a large scale. However, creating this vision takes tons of hard work in a wide variety of disciplines, many of them physically and mentally demanding. You will need a true passion for the creative side of the job in order to energetically embrace everything that it requires.
You will also need to communicate maturely in order to effectively handle the responsibilities that you will be given. We understand that you are interning to gain experience and are here to help you learn, but can only do so through honest, open communication.
A basic understanding of patterns, clothing design, marketing, and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign will allow you to apply and sharpen these skills in a real-world environment. Photography, social media, and e-commerce experience are also highly valuable to us.
