DescriptionThe Lupus Foundation of America is currently seeking an Intern for the Development and Fundraising department. The Walk intern will work closely with the National Walk Managers to provide support in order to ensure smoothly functioning and successful Walk to End Lupus Now events.
ResponsibilitiesThe Intern will assist in the growth and development of the Walk to End Lupus Now program by recruiting volunteer groups, securing in-kind donations, researching potential vendors/sponsors, working with the LFA PR department to promote the Walks through various media outlets, and assisting the Development Team with other assignments as needed.
RequirementsA Bachelor or Master’s degree, or currently enrolled in a degree program, with a major in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Strong demonstrated interest in nonprofits and health organizations. Excellent research, oral, and written communication skills. Superior planning and organizational skills. Candidate must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
This is an unpaid internship offering a dynamic work environment, for applicants interested in events, fundraising, and media. A travel stipend or school credit may be provided. The internship is available during the summer and a minimum of 15 work hours is required.
