Description

About SculptureCenter
Founded by artists in 1928, SculptureCenter is a not-for-profit arts institution dedicated to experimental and innovative developments in contemporary sculpture. We are currently accepting applicants for internships for Spring 2017.

Development and Special Events Internship
Internships are unpaid but school credit may be earned. We regularly host international interns with strong language skills. Scheduling is flexible with an expected commitment of two-three days per week for 3 months. Working with a small staff in an open office environment, you will gain valuable insight and hands on experience working for a non-profit art museum. Interns take on projects that have a direct and visible outcome in our exhibitions, public programs, and events. You will also come away with important professional skills for working in the field of contemporary art.

The Development and Special Events Intern works directly with the Director of Advancement on fundraising initiatives, upcoming Lucky Draw patron-level events, updating the database, prospect research, and individual and corporate giving as well as membership, sponsorships, and project planning. The Development and Special Events intern will also help coordinate special events. Previous experience in fundraising and special events preferred. The position requires a 2-3 day per week commitment and some assistance during evening and weekend events.

Interns should have a strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for contemporary art, enjoying visiting galleries and museums in their free time. Prior museum or gallery experience preferred.
