DescriptionSparta is a state-of-the art program leading the charge in preventing warrior suicide. Sparta employs the healing power of meditative practices, equine assisted counseling and adventure programs. Sparta has innovated the use of the Hero's Journey, to create a mythopoetic program designed to help returning warriors find personal meaning from their own experiences and translate them into a new sense of purpose. The founders of Sparta have a combined total of over 50 years of helping those in need of healing.
This position is for students interested in various areas of fundraising and learning about the nonprofit sector. This position provides students an opportunity to gain experience in areas such as grant research, donation processing, and communications projects.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with individual donation process, including tracking and acknowledging incoming gifts
Research funding opportunities with private foundations, grants, family foundations, corporate foundations and multilateral agencies.
Assist with development and communications projects such as appeal letters, emails, online campaigns, etc.
RequirementsPursuing a degree in Humanities/Social Sciences, Business, or Marketing
Interest in nonprofit work
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite,
Comfortable working in a small, friendly work environment
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Minimum of a 2.75 GPA
