DescriptionThe LFA is the foremost national nonprofit health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus, and providing support, services, and hope to all people affected by lupus. The LFA and its national network of chapters, branches, and support groups conduct programs of research, education, and advocacy.
The Walk Corporate Development intern will work closely with the National Director of Corporate Engagement to provide support in order to ensure smoothly functioning and successful Walk for Lupus Now events.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will assist in growth development of the Walk for Lupus Now corporate program by researching local companies in 9 markets to determine opportunity for engagement. Creating prospect list with contact information.
Make contact with leads on the list through email and cold calls. Conduct research of prospects for sponsorship and participation. Assisting the Development team with other assignments as needed.
Learning Objectives include conducting market research and collecting essential information for outreach efforts. Identify potential corporate leads utilizing a set of guidelines. Utilize various outreach efforts for recruitment.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess or will currently be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. Must have a strong demonstrated interest in nonprofits and health organizations. Requirements include excellent research, oral and written communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Detail oriented and comfortable with independent work and self-motivated. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office. Comfortable with cold-calling is essential.
