DescriptionThe North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau is currently looking for an intern in the field of Economic Development. This position will involve a working partnership with the Chamber and two of its member towns; Athol and Orange MA. Successful candidates can expect to participate in research, development and planning for regional economic development improvements throughout the region.
ResponsibilitiesThis position will be a liaison between the Chamber, the Athol Town Manager, Director of Planning and Development for the Town of Athol, the Orange Town Administrator and the Orange Director of Community Development and Planning. The role will be to keep information flowing and updated between the parties, perform research for program development as needed, update property and building inventories and record minutes of meetings as needed. Attending regional and statewide planning sessions and lectures is optional but available.
RequirementsSuccessful candidates should possess excellent communication skills including writing and speaking. They should feel comfortable both working alone and in groups/meetings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is important. Other computer skills such as Adobe Cloud programs and database management software is a plus. The successful candidate should have or be working on a degree or certification in Economic Development, Community Development and Planning or a related field.
