Description

AIDS Walk New York requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours a week, sometime between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Internship schedules are variable, and each intern will work with their department supervisor to build a schedule that works with their classes or other commitments while also meeting the needs of the department. All internships will begin on Monday, February 6 and end on Thursday, May 25. Interns will likely be asked to fulfill additional hours during the week leading up to the AIDS Walk, and Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and May 21. All AIDS Walk New York internships come with a monthly stipend, and may be eligible for college credit.

Responsibilities

These three interns will help implement the massive recruitment, coaching, and fundraising effort among teams and individual participants for AIDS Walk New York, and will assist with the production and venue set-up for the day of the event. They will help empower walkers and teams to meet fundraising goals with tools and motivational support. Responsibilities may include drafting fundraising and recruitment materials and email communication, creating fundraising reports, managing data, leading fundraising workshops, and making consistent phone calls to targeted populations. These interns must be cheerful and proactive. Sales or campaign experience a plus.

Requirements

Internship candidates must possess strong writing and phone skills; they must be self-motivated, positive, and well-organized team players. Computer knowledge is required, including, but not limited to, internet research, social media, and Microsoft Office Suite.
