DescriptionPerson Centered Place is a haven where the mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to support the social, educational, and physical needs of adults with intellectual disabilities. As a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), I have been honored and empowered by the opportunities awarded to me at Person Centered Place and now I have the opportunity to award an intern with the same opportunities.
The vision of Person Centered Place, LLC
Envisioned in 2009, Juanda Antrum had spent many hours being taught patience and compassion at a level that she did not expect when first starting out. She came to realize that the people she strived to serve in turn gave her the drive and belief that she could make a difference… that she could make a place where one could simply be their self and a place where that was theirs. The vision came be to Person Centered Place, LLC.
Person Centered Place supports a lifestyle that makes sense to those we are privileged to serve. We help our individuals live their good life in a place where they can be anything… a place where they can be themselves. At Person Centered Place, our meaningful experiences are shared with adult men and women who have intellectual disabilities. We serve those that have medically related diagnosis such as seizures, dual mental health diagnosis and other medically related diagnosis. We do not just hear what the individuals say to us but we actually listen to what is being communicated to us in order for our continued learning through the individuals. We exemplify person centeredness where we come together as a team to assist the individual with living their chosen good life.
We consider ourselves “People of Privilege”. We are people who have the benefit of being educated by the population that we serve. We gain skills and knowledge through working with individuals; we strive to live up to the expectations of our individuals and their families; we hear and listen to what is being communicated to us which has been an integral part of developing unequivocal satisfaction and highly esteemed individuals.
Person Centered Place and I personally would like to formally invite you to join our family as an intern to our facility. I am searching for an intern who wants to join a team where they can learn to work with highly esteemed individuals where the objective is to develop person center approaches, to develop knowledge of the ID population, to develop person centered skills to work with the ID population and team building skills. We are searching for someone who strives towards excellence, learning, and someone to show out-of-the box thinking and skills.
