DescriptionThe American Spectator Foundation is currently accepting resumes for its ongoing internship program, joining our team in donor outreach, conservative journalism, and social media promotion. Positions offer flexible schedules, hands-on training, as well as networking and writing opportunities.

• Maintain records of donations
o Routine data entry
• Management of donor relationships and correspondence
• Maintain and strengthen social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
o Post Spectator articles, monitor comments, assist in online campaigns
• Monitor email correspondence
o Check the email@example.com account, responding to subscriber inquiries, while forwarding emails to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare materials for meetings and donor trips
• Assist in Direct Mail Program
• Assist in Grant Prospecting and Renewal Program
o Research Potential Major Donors and Assist in Prospecting Program
o Assemble materials for grant proposals
o Create, Update, & Maintain Chronological Database of Foundations
• Represent the Spectator at local events and conferences
• Sort incoming mail
• Periodically author news articles and op-eds for the Spectator Blog
Specific large projects
• 2017 Bartley Gala
o Assist with design, creation, and mailing of invitations
o Verify RSVP list
• Seasonal SEC Dinners
o Email invitations to small guest-list
• Create and update donor-prospect profiles
RequirementsUndergrad student or recent grad preferred with research, writing, and communication skills.
*Excellent English skills, both written and spoken, including grammar and spelling, are a must*
1-3 years of experience in office support, research-writing, social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), marketing, and development or fundraising strongly desired.
