DescriptionPortals are gold shipping containers with immersive audio and video technology inside. When you enter one, you come face-to-face with someone in the other container, full-body, and the two of you converse live as if in the same room.
Interns will be key members of a small team that will identify and research potential Portal locations and partners. Outreach will be both international and domestic. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a diverse range of experience in outreach, development, production and sales.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, business and tech staff in identifying and researching potential domestic and international Portal locations and partners.
Update accounts using our customer relationship management (CRM) software.
Participate in meetings to develop expansion strategies and interact with our partners abroad.
Possible travel to Portal openings around the United States.
Develop our social media presence.
RequirementsStrong research, writing, and computer skills (Microsoft office).
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strongattention to detail.
Currently enrolled in or recently completed graduate or undergraduate studies and looking for experience in development.
Some nonprofit and/or fundraising experience is preferred, but not required.
Experience in reaching out and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to learn, adapt quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and balance multiple projects.
High sense of responsibility, problem solving skills, results oriented, and resourceful.
Must have a personal computer and be willing to use it for the work assigned.
A degree in international relations, art, film, design, business and/or journalism is preferred.
