DescriptionThe House of Hope International is a retreat center of refuge and renewal, a faith-based ministry support mission which makes possible spiritual advancement for people of faith who need rest and rejuvenation. Its Christian faith-based retreat services and programs exist for the purpose of the spiritual renewal and education of lay people (adults, youth, couples, groups) and religious workers (religious communities, churches). At this time, we are principally placing our volunteer interns in one or the other of our two street-side community outreach shops, giving them a chance to strengthen the development of our nonprofit activities via A-V communications, marketing and PR, clerical work, plus music or creative arts.
Our unique multi-faceted retreat house provides religious workers with a place of retreat ministry, hospitality, creative communications, and referrals for improved well-being. The House of Hope International operates year-round due to its being an essential, in-demand charitable organization. Its favorable spiritual climate and formative programs are designed to help better prepare "the Way" of the Lord (Mark 1:1-3 RSV) in the lives of our visitors and guests.
Those we serve come from all denominations, ethnic backgrounds and cultures; and, at the same time, we do have a unique outreach to positively affect, help, and supplement the ministry of churches and religious communities in various ways (given their special needs and requirements).
The House of Hope International was founded in Metro New York in 2005.
Term of Internship: After screening and orientation, 1 year minimum preferred (renewable); yet, some short-term internship projects are available for qualified candidates.
