DescriptionFleck Consulting, Inc. is a progressive Consulting firm based in Allentown, PA with an extensive list of public and private sector clients. The firm specializes in strategic communications, campaign management, marketing, public relations, and governmental affairs.
The Economic Development Internship is a unique, new position with the firm. The intern will work exclusively on projects related to the firm's public-private partnership clients.
This is a great opportunity for College Students to gain valuable experience working in the political arena while developing skills necessary for success in both the public and private sector.
ResponsibilitiesCore responsibilities for Economic Development Interns will be:
Collaborate with the Fleck Consulting Team in the planning & implementation of Economic Development programs for our public and private sector clients; coordinate meetings with key public and private stakeholders, including scheduling, research, and appropriate follow-up; research and prepare memos on assigned topics; other tasks as assigned.
This is the perfect opportunity for a proactive, motivated college student to build an excellent network while acquiring and developing the skills necessary to succeed in either the public or private sector.

RequirementsInterns should have flexible schedules, a desire to be involved in the political process, and a strong work ethic. Interns for the Economic Development Internship should have excellent research skills, a basic understanding of commonly-used economic development tools, and a desire to be intimately involved in the Economic Development process for major clients.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to balance keen understanding and vision of the client's goals and the firm's strategies with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to pursuing them. Essential qualifications include: superior oral and written communications skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent telephone manner, and basic computer skills.
