Description

YSA – the global organization that improves communities by increasing the number and the diversity of young people serving in substantive roles – is seeking Education interns who will work with the Education Team (Education Director) to:
• Assist with the revision of YSA educational resources including supporting videos and web-based material;
• Research and compile information based on school district and school requirements for participation in service and service-learning;
• Assist with the development of service-learning project planning materials for a variety of target audiences and markets;
• Prepare current project materials to incorporate Common Core standards, and Career and Workforce Readiness skills;
• Research existing curricular resources surrounding national and global issues such as hunger, the environment, clean water, engaging diverse communities, childhood obesity, disaster preparedness, and healthy futures;
• Research and track the use of YSA resources, in order to recommend revisions, and to respond to gaps as appropriate.

Full-time or part-time internship positions are available. Applicants may be graduate or undergraduate students and should be able to commit to at least 15 hours per week. This internship position is unpaid.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have:
• Strong research skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Experience working as part of a dynamic and motivated team
• Excellent organizational abilities
• Flexibility and ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time
• Personal experience in service-learning or community service (preferred)
• Education or Humanities background (preferred)
